MJ Painting

mj-painting_web-siteMJ Painting was frustrated with the time and money they’d spent trying to establish a simple web presence that they could be proud of. I took care of business in just a few days, and gave them some ideas for ways to take the site to another level.

HollyBarrLogo_300pxWhen she started her real estate business in 2002, Holly was apprehensive about incorporating holly leaves into her logo. She was afraid it would seem “christmasy” all year ’round. I made the case that she frequently introduced herself as “Holly…you know, like Christmas” so it was pretty unavoidable. Furthermore, I believed that the simple mark of green holly leaves with red berries would be attractive, distinctive, and easy to apply to all of her materials and signage. She agreed, and today her logo is recognized throughought Willow Glen and the South Bay.

Callidus TrueConnect Community Site

Callidus-TrueConnect_site-designCallidus Software hired me to refresh the brand identify and site design of their TrueConnect community site, where customers can interact with one another and company experts to learn the basics and best practices of using their software. The site was build on Leverage Software’s community-building platform, which introduced the complexity of mapping a design I developed to the system’s back-end deployment interface and templates.

Holly Barr 4th of July “Popper Drop” Campaign

4th-of-july-poppercard1For the 4th of July in 2006, Holly distributed small “poppers” to the neighborhood she was focused on. I designed this simple card to which she affixed the poppers — that’s the root of the word choice, and the reason there’s the large white space under the lilne “Pick a Realtor with POP!!!”

Holly Barr Direct Mail Pieces

holly-postcard-templateFirst things first, I designed a shell/template that we could use to give pieces a consistent look over time. We decided to include a paragraph about her so every piece introduced her to the reader in case it’s their first time seeing any of her materials. The back included her contact information in the form of a return address, along with blank spaces for mailing requisites such as address and indicia.

This is Holly’s current web site. It’s built on WordPress like all my sites these days, which lets her manage her own content, and it features an integrated blog that she uses to share ideas about and observations on the local real estate market.
